# Elbow Room > A desk-fit check from your height at https://elbow-room.skillsafe.ai/. Measure your chair, desk, keyboard and screen with a tape, enter your height (or three measured lengths), and the page works out a target for each part, puts the changes in the order that works - seat first, then a footrest, the keyboard, the screen top at eye level, the screen distance and a laptop split - gives a verdict (fits you, a few tweaks, rework it) and draws a side elevation with today's positions dashed. One metered run turns the plan into short steps using what you have to hand. URL: https://elbow-room.skillsafe.ai/ API tutorial: https://elbow-room.skillsafe.ai/api.html ## What it does - Inputs: units (cm or inches), height, optional measured lengths (floor to back of knee with shoes, seat to elbow, seat to eye), the setup (a laptop on its own, a raised laptop with a separate keyboard, or a separate screen and keyboard), seat, desk, keyboard tray, screen top edge, eyes-to-screen distance, footrest, whether the chair and desk heights adjust, hours a day at the desk, strain spots (neck, shoulders, wrists or forearms, lower back, eyes) and things to hand. - Free, in the browser: estimates from height when lengths are not measured (lower leg with shoes 0.25 H + 2.5 cm, seat to elbow 0.14 H, seat to eye 0.45 H, screen distance 0.30 H to 0.44 H), the target for each part, the fixed order of changes, a 20 cm cap on any footrest (a desk too high to sit at gets a lower keyboard, never a perch), a "Check again" comparison with an earlier saved check, a 2.5 cm in-range tolerance, the verdict (first match wins: a laptop on its own for 2 hours or more a day, or a seat, keyboard or screen change of 10 cm or more, is rework it; anything else out of range is a few tweaks; otherwise fits you), a side-elevation drawing as SVG/PNG, and Markdown, CSV and JSON downloads. - Metered (one run on gpt-terra): one short step per part to change, in the page's order, with the reason and what to use, plus lines on the parts to leave alone, the strain spots and breaks. The run never changes the targets, the order or the verdict. ## Contract POST https://api.skillsafe.ai/v1/app-api/run with string fields: task = "fit", unit, body, setup, hours, strain, on_hand, facts (the verdict, the order of fixes, one line per part with now, target, change and suggested means, a strain line and a breaks line). The reply is one JSON object: {task, verdict, headline, steps: [{part, do, why, using}], keep, strain, habit, closing}. ## Notes Targets are estimates, not medical advice. If pain, numbness or tingling lasts, see a doctor or physiotherapist. Posture and break guidance follows the UK Health and Safety Executive's display screen equipment pages (Open Government Licence v3.0) and Cornell University's workstation guide.
